Hi , i was wondering if anyone has had intelli start fitted on there rex i got it done a few weeks ago and it doesnt seem to work to well , the installers reconed it is because my car idles funny (it bounces between 1&1/2 and 2k rpm i was told it was a prob with the aftermarket airfilter) , but it seems to work ok and then not , just wondered if anyone has had the same problem
Cheers
Glen
Sometimes mine doesnt start first time, but i just press the button again to switch it off, then next time it fires up. Other than that ive had no probs.
What sorta probs are you having?
it just seems to never start and stay running for more than about 5 secounds when it starts and stops within aobut 2 sec it starts again but then it will run for a few seconds but then cuts out
does it only do it when you use the intellistart then, or does using the key cause the same symptoms.
They never mentioned anything about the idle when they fitted mine, but I havent got an aftermarket filter (till tomorrow anyway:)) so perhaps thats the reason.
i guess it might be , it doesnt do it on the key it always starts first time and never stalls
it is just really anoying cos i spent almost a grand with the alarm and intelli start (clifford concept 500 ) and i got the data cable today so i can alter the settings and i cant get in to the starter screen to mess with the idle settings and stuff
I personnaly wouldnt use it as it has proven with other people to be one of the easyist ways to flood the engine if it doesnt startup first time.

Anyone had experience with the above - any good?
i used to have it on my nissan silvia , it was great
so when it works it is good when it doesnt its crap
There should be a wire running from the coils to the intellistart. This tells the alarm the engine is running and (a) stops the engine cranking and (b) keeps the engine running.
WHat you will almost certainly find is the intellistart is set up for a different engine configuration. I THINK it should be set up for a straight 6...
Don\'t let them tell you it \'idles funny\', as it\'s happily installed in my car and works great. And it\'s best when someone is looking through the window and you are nearby... *grin*
And it\'s never flooded the engine. Only I am allowed to do that, so ner...
