I don\'t car how tidy it is, £9995 for a TII cab is TOO much
Actually thats around list price for a minter...good ones are VERY VERY rare, I know of about 2 that are in Mint condition, most of the others are no way near mint. Bear in mind an \'Average - good\' one is fetching £5000 with around 100,000 on the clock.
Its good to see them being valued for what they are, too many people have to give minters away because they need a quick sale, I hope this seller holds on and doesnt give it away.
true, I think it is difficult to persuade buyers to part with that much, when they could get a "reasonable" one for £3500 and spend say £1500 making it almost mint. I know it isn\'t original in that case, but that is the thinking.
yeh it is pricy but hes after a specific buyer - he must be confident to ask that much!
im with Mark on this one - if i wanted to spend 10k on a FC cabrio - i would make my own wide body big turbo fat rimmed bad boy.
edit - just thought that if you wanted to restore one to be *just like* this low mile example you would have to spend more than 1500 on just a respray. theres a few good ones but none that havent travelled <50K that often.
I think Moonwrap would beg to differ! :rollin
Haha for that coin I\'d import a mint one from Oz or N.Z and still have plenty of change!

OMG! :) What would I beg to differ on? :eek What on mileage or value?
My Egi has done 25k :D and my TII cabriolet has done 40k :D
Value wise, I think Mark (Sadgoth) has hit on a very crucial point â€" “original†condition. A low mileage car with FSH in original condition could command this price to the right buyer as you are in classic car territory. There is a certain buzz factor to owning an original and unmolested example for lots of people (like me) â€" just as there is with owning a modified car (which I also like). But then the modified car is perhaps harder to sell (and realise it\'s value in parts) because the modifications are more of a personal taste thing???
The top A1 book price I’ve ever seen in a classic car magazine is £7,500 for a TII cabriolet (it didn’t specify country of origin) - but value is what anyone is prepared to pay for it AND how much it would cost to replace it at the end of the day!
The UK cabriolets are very rare and exclusive, but even a low mileage import cabriolet is going to cost you a lot in mint A1 original condition, because there won\'t be many left in that condition â€" just due to age - 14 to 18 years old now! It relies on someone having squirreled the car away in a garage somewhere and having kept it immaculate and mechanically sound!
But maybe we are speculating on this particular one until we see the pictures? There’s not much info in that advert!

:)
It\'s good to see a low mileage car still available, but I have to say it wouldn\'t stay that way if I owned it :)
I use mine as my daily driver, and it gets any long journeys I want to make in it as well. It does spend about 2 weeks of the year in Rotecknics, to keep it on the road and running, but it\'s a great car to drive and thouroughly addictive.
Did once have the idea of keeping the car stock, but power lust has taken over. :Laugh
Still I hope the car finds a suitable home, and will be looked after and used, not just stored in a garage. It\'s a great drivers car, and one of the best convertibles I\'ve ever driven.

I know what you mean! :) I ‘d really love another RX ……..that I could abuse more, do performance mods and leave parked anywhere and not fawn over so much!
When I found my Egi I bought it in a (it\'s a classic car preservation frame of mind) and then bought the cab to drive due to not wanting to put lots of miles on the Egi. :2eek
But then I found a low mileage cab and now they are BOTH summer/dry weather only limited mileage cars! :rollin Although the cab does get driven much more!
I suppose the advantage is that working in London I don\'t need a daily driver!
Still no pictures up of the cab on Autotrader either :( - would be good to see it! :)
I\'d love a TII Cab but not at that money! It really is being advertised at a price for collection suitability not as a car to use.
If you want an original then maybe the money\'s worth it.
If you want a mint condition car then buy cheap and have it restored.
Both would likely cost similar amounts in the end althought e restored car might benefit from newer suspension/break technology!
i think the car is a little over priced may be 6-7k, my car had done a similar milage when i bought it 2-3 years ago
the main benifit of buying a t11 with that sort of milage i think is the condition of the bodywork, [underside] + parts such as uj\'s, steering, gearbox, bearings, etc with have a lot less wear that a 100k+ car
i have owned MGB\'s for lots of years and when the rust starts it is very difficult to stop as many t11 owners have found out, i spent many hours last winter undersealing and waxoyling all the underside, wings, doors, sills, etc. so the car should stay in a1 condition.
if anyone wants a hard top t11 there was one in Gurnsey [i think] with only 16,ooo miles, for about 3-4k if it still for sale and to me that sounds like a realy good buy?
i would allways chose a low milage car over a restored car [but thats just me]

Not usually a good option to buy from the Channel islands, the 16k is pretty average Mileage out there, the place is only 8miles by 4 miles at its widest/longest points, 2ndly I promise its going to be rusty unless they kept it inside the house for its whole life, every car on Guernsey is rusty due to the fact its sitting in a perpetual salt bath! Not having a go, just sharing some info :D
Prices have now crashed as a similar car [may be the same one 26,000 miles was £10,000 ] on Auto trader for £3999:2eek
