Title: Dangly wire from sump!
Post by: iaint on July 04, 2006, 02:52:45 PM
Hi,

While lying under the car last saturday doing an oil change I noticed a wire dangling down from the sump.  It\'s connected to some kind of sandwich plate on the opposite side of the sump from teh drain plug.

It\'s other end should be attached somewhere but I\'ve no clue where!  It\'s a single wire so I assume it\'s earthed through the chassis.

Car seems to be running fine without it though!

Isn\'t that the oil level sensor? Not all FD\'s have them i think. Not 100% on this though. (It\'s too hot for me to go and check my sump! :p)

Thanks!

Next question... where does the other end attach to and is it important - no warning of any kind displayed!!

What was that flashing red light on the way back Sunday? You sure there\'s no warning lights. :p
