Hi again all,
My \'RZ\' came with a double din pioneer carrozzeria tv, Sat nav, GPS, CD, Tape, Radio, remote controlled fancy Gizmo. The previous owner installed the band expander for the radio and the CD works.
Now I am a simple man and usually have Alpine 7939R\'s and Nakamichi single head units, with JL10W3\'s and either Genesis or Pheonix Gol;d zero point amps. I prefer sound quality to units that can cook your tea.
Anyway i went down to Cheltenham Car Hi-fi centre, who have done all of my previous installs (they are amazing at what they do) and asked if it was possible to get the carrozzeria working proberly in the UK. The answer was a quick and unsure , no.
Is this true ?, is the unit for the Bin ? Am I going to be faced with another huge car hi-fi bill ?
Surely there must be some kind of conversion available - can anyone help.
A manual in English would be a start !!
Thanks,
Tom
is it just the fm radio that doesnt work?
Radio and CD work fine mate, it\'s just the Sat nav and the TV that are for the bin..
Which means the whole thing - seems a shame as I am sure it is quite a \'high-end\' jap unit.

Hi Tom,
I live in Japan and bought an RX7 about 6 weeks ago, 4 weeks ago I installed a Panasonic navigation system. Went to the Tokyo motor show and was told by the engineer on the stand that it would not work in Europe, maps are to a different standard. I\'m sure that the Pioneer has the same issue.
Is yours the HDD model with the music server, here they cost about 250,000 yen (\'bout 1,400 pounds). Must be almost worth shipping it back to Japan to sell !!!!!!!!!!!

I think it about circa 1998, so not worth much now. I will just stick with it for the moment, untill I find a nakamichi or another alpine unit.
Tomson
do u wanna sell it
Matt,
Maybe, would need to sort myself out with a new unit first though, and have no available funds at the mo.
Will let you know
Tomson
Almost tempted to say do you want to swap it for my Kenwood double dinn unit - CD/MD as I\'m removing that one (I listen to MP3s through a jukebox via a tape adapter - spot my present problem).
BTW doe the tape work as well :o
Gary,
I am sure it does mate, let me know if you are interested in a swop and I can take some pictures for you.
I will try it just as soon as I find a tape.
Tomson
Not sure how serious I am but have PMed you some URLs to pictures.
