Title: My new car
Post by: Tomson on November 02, 2003, 08:23:47 PM
Hi all,

Picked up the car on Friday, it was raining which made for interesting driving !!!

Cleaned her on Saturday morning with zymol, looking good Billyray...

The weather was better and got to go for a real drive whilst wife and son were asleep.......:D :D :D :D :D

Very very fast and much fun.

Also topped up oil which seemed fairly low, used Mineral 10w40 Shell Helix stuff ehich is what the previous owner used.  Plan to do a complete oil and filter change next week - could do with some help and/or advice please... Where to purchase oil filter , which oil is best etc etc..

Seems to burn a bit of oil, is this normal ?

Anyway took some photographs, but have no idea how to post them, or blot out the number plates - please can someone help ?, also at the moment they are 1Meg each !!!!

Many Thanks,

Tom

Very nice. Is It an RZ?

You have the Recaros from an Rz.

But you\'ll have to lose those Nissan GTR 33 Wheels, Its a Mazda Dude!

Right age (1996), kevlar recaros and bins - points to an RZ, dont it...strange they ripped off the stickers though - and WTF did they swap the BBS\'s for them Datsun rims? :D ;)

Nice car though mate.

Thanks for posting the picture mate.....

Yes it is an \'RZ\', engine stamp in bonnet, sticker in door and chassis number say so.  Christ knows why they ever got rid of the BBS.

The sticker is also there, I tried to take a photo of it, as they are both black on a black car - very subtle you have to catch them in the right light to notice..

I believe the skyline wheels are from a R33 GTR, do you think anyone on the skyline forum would be interested ?

I am looking for a set of 18\'s -but in no hurry.  The Nissan wheels will do for the winter.  I do f**king hate them though.

Need to do a bit of bodywork tidying, the rear spoiler has been changed - not very well - boot needs a re-spray also the usual parking dings that need to be removed - not too much.

Has some really nice features, the flare in the passenger footwell. Stamped Japenese history, plastic cover over the sill guard bits ( it has never been removed), no damage to dash anywhere, very straight - all documents.

It also has great compression readings (i think), what are really good readings - how high ?.

I have ordered my Mazda RX-7 performance handbook to start reading.  Only 11.99 plus postage from Amazon, people are bidding more than that on eBay.  Will  be taking mods very very slowly untill I know what I am doing.

I am also considering keeping it standard, putting back on the BBS ( how hard are they to find, what actual BBS part number are they) and the original exhasut that i have.

Anyway so much to think about.

R33 GTR wheels would definately fetch a fair price cause they are light . Wrong Offset for Rx7.

For the perfect alternative to BBS 17inch originals,

Phonexs Power Site has good pics.
These Pics.

These 19" RGs are awesome IMO :D

The SXOC is a good place to sell R33 GTR alloys.  Im not entirely sure what they are worth but I seem to recall a few adverts on there for about £400, depending on tyres and condition.

Just got back from 2 hours of lunch REX action.

Booked in a dent remover to get rid of some of my parking dings that came with the car

The f**king seat belt holder thingy on the top edge of my recaro snapped...bugger !!

anyone know where I can get one of these. ???

Also still on the hunt for the driver door pocket hinged cover, am getting the feeling these are very very hard to find.

Also have interest in my Skyline wheels on the Skyline forum, but would need some rims to put on the REX, does anyone have any for sale ?

Thanks,

Tomson
