Title: 2001 RB. Whats she worth?

:Thumbs-up Hi, would appreciate anyones advice on a valuation of a 2001 RX RB. She has covered 35000 miles FSH and pretty much standard New import by TW White. The thing iam worried about is the old stigma of rotary engine life. Some people say they are good for about 50k on average, but also i know of some that have gone past 100k. What i dont want to do is pay a lot of money for this car, then 6mnths to a year down the road iam looking at a £4k rebuild. Also she still has her original exhaust system, more expense iminent. So what would be a reasonable price to pay taking this into account.:cheers

I reckon a 2001 is worth somewhere around 10k - 11k

Thanks to the people that replied to my thread. The worrying thing is, out of 100 viewing i only had 2 replies. I just wander wether this is because people genuinely dont know what price to put on an RX these days. In this instance although the car is relatively new (2001) the engine is approaching the worrying, when will it need a rebuild phase. Has anyone sold an RX lately, without having to give it away?

ive seen 1 with 4k on the clock go for 18k

Not another one ive missed!! The difference i suppose with that one and the one ive been looking at is with 4k on the clock she is virtually brand new. Where/when was that. Is it for sale again:-)

The seller must have been laughing all the way to the bank!

You can pick up luxury motors like a 2001 S-Class 500 for 13k now. And these cars cost more than twice as much new compared to the Mazda.

I think you must be talking about the car at magnum motors. This car is a bit of a joke within the RX community as it has been for sale for getting on for 3 years. I thought you meant you had seen a car actually sell for £18k

Nothing is wrong with it, just that it is OVERPRICED and it\'s been on their site for sale for three years!

Extremely overpriced. I cant believe its still £19k even now. I would have thought thay would realise by now that the price needs to come down--A LOT
