Title: Paint code
Post by: Don Pamponi on June 29, 2006, 08:43:09 PM
Hi folks

Ive been invited to the Retrocars show at Santapod \'cos my car was featured in the mag.

Only problem is, its got no MOT & I went round with the red oxide primer recently.

My question is: does anyone know where the paint code is?  I need to get it all blue again before sunday!

Do you reckon a Mazda main dealer will sell the paint?  Think it was made up last time.

Cheers

I\'m sure i remember reading somewhere that the paint code is in the frame number if it\'s the original paint
be good to see the car if your coming up to my neck of the woods!!

Well, it failed its 1st MOT.

The prats who changed the tyres used a trolly jack on the chassis rails & crushed one side, cracking a corner of the box section.

Found the paint code on the bonnet where it says "PAINT CODE:" doh!  Whent to 5 places including Mazda dealer in search of paint but none of the useless sloths could manage to sell me some.

So, car show on sunday & currently the car has no MOT & is covered in oxide primer.
(& the steering is still double crap!)

The tyre place has since gone bust.

Well, its 8.30am & I\'m off to try & weld the chassis rail up so I can race to the mot place before they close at 12.

May make it to the show yet!

Struggled with welder/hammer/angle grinder all morning.  Just sqeezed it in to the mot centre 10 mins before it closed!

So we will be heading oop north tomorrow morning in a dirty 1st gen with oxide primer all up the wheel arches & 4 kerbed wheels!:Thumbsup!

Whats your number Mark? (&do you have a spare set of those grey boot tie down straps?)

Didn\'t make it to the show.  Just too much to put right in too short a time.  I\'d only moan about the sh*te steering & be making excuses for the crap bits all day anyhow.

Maybe next year (if I don\'t throw a match in it before then)

I doubt it, its too far for me to travel in 1 day & I have no spare time really (self employed in early stages so I have to do everything in my spare time).

Whats in Peterborough then?
