Just thought you may be interested to know that Jeremy Clarkson
.....................( Yes I know.......I know.......however ) is test driving
the Rx-8 on " Top Gear " on BBC2 at 8pm tomorrow night (2nd).
Mr C has been very complimentary about the RX-8 in print. I place
more credence on Andrew\'s ( Jimmys) reviews of his new beautiful RX-8 beastie, but it is great that the car will be getting such exposure. Will be watching like a hawk.

I wasted a hour watching that tw4t for nothing! I even phoned an RX-8 hopeful to tell her to watch. Only good thing is, I confirmed for myself why I never watch it. I also wasted one hour of video tape too.:confused: :confused: :confused:

Just dropped Top Gear an email to let them know what I think of there advertised scheduling and asked why they cut the RX8 feature.

Perhaps they didn\'t get time to test drive it, or wanted to do a bigger feature than they first anticipated :) Or like the MkV Golf, perhaps something broke on the car meaning they couldn\'t test drive it :eek:

Normally, if something broke, Clarkson would be pretty sarky about it. Then again, maybe he rates it so much he wants to do it justice!

I watched it too and thoroughly enjoyed it despite the evident lack of RX8.
I am definately taking my RX8 to the Isle of Man asap.
Someone told me last week that they had seen the RX8 being reviewed on Top Gear the week before last. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Just had a reply to my email to top gear - they say the RX8 feature will now be on Nov 23rd, due to re-scheduling.

You would think that for big car releases they would contact the relevant clubs and invite them along. The more the merrier and all that, >cough< >cough< I think an offical representative >cough< should contact them >cough & clear throat< :)

probably already been filmed but not the Nov 23rd episode with the audience, or "
studio days" as Top Gear calls them :) I expect (hope) they are filmed relatively close to the air date so their news items are up to date.

There were no RX7\'s in the studio when they showed the RX8 briefly. Though they did rave about the RX8 in that short space of time. It was the previous Nissan Z versions that they slagged of badly.
Still in email contact with Top Gear and they tell me tickets are still available for the show on the 19th for showing on the 23rd this SHOULD be the RX8 feature - no guarantee though.

Dunno how good day spent at the show wood be but i always thought driven was a pretty weak car programme but i thoroughly enjoyed spending a day, when i starred erm took part in it, ragging the arse off 70k range rovers, X5\'s etc round the test track :D OK so it wasn\'t exactly the hole day doing it but WTF it was still fun ;)

well i\'ve applied to go to top gear on Dec 10th. Cant really go earlier as I cannot give short notice to my clients to take a day off work.
At least, if i get tickets, I should have my damned car by then. It will give me a chance to give the RX8 a good run to the studio in Godalming.
Is there a mazdarotary club t-shirt.
I feel i should wear one to the show. Otherwise my RX8 shirt will have to do.

In summary, according to Top Gear (and Jeremy Clarkson in particular), the RX-8 is a fussy design but a great driving package and went round their track in the same time as an M3 and 350Z. Apparently a little squirmy in the wet, but maybe a tyre-related issue.

Weasley, could well be a tyre issue. The couple that I have seen have had Bridgestone S-03\'s on them.
The S-03\'s are a great tyre which never really seem to let go, but they take a long time to break-in so to speak.

the whole family got together to see what Clarkson would say about the car. We were very happy/relieved about his comments but I have increasingly heard about the problems in the wet. Have any of you RX8 owners found this to be true?
I remember a similar problem with my MX3 until I changed the tyres. So I would be very happy if any of you can make a recommendation about different tyres.
I saw a red RX8 on the weekend reg no. P1 RX8. any one here own that?
My car is sitting at the dealers waiting for a problem with the V55 paperwork to be sorted out. Frustrating or what!!

It is most likely the tyres that are the problem, The Bridgestone RE040 are not the best tyre in the wet, in fact far from it. The Bridgestone Potenza S03 are far superior. The Pirelli PZERO ASIMMETRICO are also pretty good.
