Title: Knocking/Clicking Sound
Post by: jetpilot on June 25, 2006, 05:28:58 PM
Hi Guys

To cut a long story short, have not been using my car much, but pulled it out the garage the other day, seemed to run very sweet, left it idling, turned the wheel a few times to take some pics and the stopped the car. Went back within an hour and it started but it was emitting a strange noise, sort of like a tapping/knocking/clicking sound, seems to be from the front of the engine more than the back, it rises and falls in speed according to revs, but does still run sweetly if that makes sense, its not lumpy or fluttery.

Have tried removing all belts as a test, yet the noise is still there!!

Any ideas??

Thanks

It does sound very bearing like, but as you may guess, my techincal description is not perhaps the best!!

I presume thats an engine trip down then?

If it is the front bearing.  I was told it can be done without engine coming out.

I heard a clicking noise coming from my engine bay last week. It rose and fell when I revved the engine. Turned out to be a HT lead that had fallen off and the clicking was the spark arcing from the plug to the end of the lead.

Probably not it, but can\'t hurt to look. :yes
