Title: Grounding kits, any use?
Post by: CJay on June 24, 2006, 07:09:25 PM
Just wondering if hooking up a grounding kit to an FD has an noticable impact?

I\'m wondering this too, guy on ebay is doing car specific ones very reasonably.

He mentions someone on here helped him sort the FD one out.

May have to look at getting one :)

i am making my own, just using some standard 3core multistrand cable left over from doing a few bits on the house and something called a "henly block" or something like that. Basically an earth block used by electricians. Total cost: about £5

I made mine with bits from Maplin. Found it smoothed out the idle mostly.

Most all Jap cars are known for the use of lostest grade wire.

That would be me;)

Making your own kit can be cheaper, but these kits are made well and saves the agro....Sure you\'ll get a few quid off if you metion you are from MRC:chat

The only real noticable difference was the idle smoothed out, as Fish said.

if you are running an auto and add an \'apexi voltage stabiliser\' to the grounding kit you may find that it sorts the intermittant \'hold button\' error  :Thumbs-up .
