Title: New poly bushes
Post by: Frankie on June 24, 2006, 12:58:35 PM
Car is now back from Power Engineering who fitted 20 new Powerflex polyurethane bushes.

Front Lower Wishbone Front Bush x2

Front Lower Wishbone Rear Bush x2

Front Upper Wishbone Bush x4

Front Anti Roll Bar Bush x2

Rear Trailing Arm Front Bush x2

Rear Track Control Arm Inner Bush x2

Rear Upper Wishbone Bush x4

Rear Anti Roll Bar Bush x2

They also did 4 wheel laser alignment, tracking and reduced the excessive negative camber.  Got some new front tires while there to as the inside edge on mine was almost down to the wire.

It now feels very different, much more solid and planted at speed and like a go-kart round bends. It used to feel slightly twitchy as if it always wanted to change lanes with or without my consent!  Not sure if that was down to the camber or the old bushes.  Hands off the wheel at 90mph no problem (not that I\'ve done this of course!)  Ride quality hasn\'t been affected much by the changes, bumpy roads at low speed it still feels just as jiggly as it always did.  The sun is out so time for more road testing I think!

Hi Jeff luckily for me they didn\'t cost anything as I responded to this post http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=549987 :Giggle

And here are the prices, not including vat... not sure of costs for fitting and alignment.

Do we take it that you get all bushes changed for £297....Including labour? That sounds pretty good if true.

Just looked a bit closer......seems this is just the cost of the parts.........

wow 300 is cheap for the bushes...changing them over shouldnt be too diffucilt id imagine! especially when you have access to a hydraulic press and a blow torch both of which i do!
Glad to hear it worked out for you frankie!

No knocks, everything just feels tighter.  Am not sure when they\'ll be available for sale, they want to know if there\'s any issues first.  Give Tim at Powerflex a call on 01895 460033.
