Hi to you all,
I have been searching a lot lately and this really seem to be the best web site I could find on rotary engined cars by Mazda.
A very good friend here in Brazil has a 1967 Mazda Cosmo in his garage. The car was given by the Japanese Prime Minister to the Brazilian President in 1967 during a state visit.
My friend ended up finding this car some twenty years ago and bought it.
The car lost its engine (He bolught it with a Opel engine) but otherwise is pretty much complete and in good condition. He wants to sell this car. Can someone help as to give us a price indication and where would be the place to offer such a car ?
Yhank you in adavance,
Cosmobrazil
Hi, welcome and thankyou for visiting our site, we have many guests from around the world but I beleive you are the first from Brazil :cool
I think before a price could be worked out, an idea of condition, mileage and some pictures would help.
I and many others on this site would look forward to seeing the pictures anyway. :Thumbs-up
Welcome mate. This will be a intresting one for you to value Clive if there\'s some record of the cars previous history, might be one mazda would want thereselves.
Kevin
Thank you all for your warm welcome.
Unfortunatly my friend is not a fan of internet, and that is the reason why I came in that story. I will ask him for pictures. He has a magazine article from that time showing the President of Brazil with the car. As soon as I get the pictures I will post them
Hi Cosmobrazil, welcome to the club. :)

Yes, me too! Being the owner of the white one pictured to the left, I\'d love to hear more about the car and see some pictures.

Hello
Is the Cosmo for sale? I have not seen any update from you. I too am from Brazil-at least originally.
regards
Max
Since we are all enthusiats I thought it may be worth clearing up a minor issue.
Cosmo = JDM
110S . = export
Mazda did not get an "export" license from NSU until 1969 & only then did limited exports of the 110S commence (until 1972)
If its an L10A version then its a JDM Cosmo = 1967
If its an L10B version with 15" wheels, its a Cosmo = 1968 - 1972
If its an L10B version with 14" wheels, its a . 110S = 1969 - 1972
Hope this helps & apologies if it confuses you all even more.

Hi David,
It interest you to know that i have an L10A that is a 110s,but it 15 inch wheels and also the later L10b nose, but is short wheel base,it was the Paris motorshow car in 1968.
So there are annomalies.

L10B nose, 1968, 110S, short wheel base. Reads like the export 110S with 15" wheels fitted (for effect.??) Being the Paris motor show car, perhaps thats how they got around the export license issue as it may have been a display car only & remained in Mazda ownership. Not actually sold off until after 1969.???
Agreed too, back then there where many annomalies so anything is possible I guess.

Hello All,
I am wondering what colors did the original Cosmo\'s come in regardlees of the above mentioned local or improt production versions. I have only ssen these cars in white and white and white. Were those the only colors they were produced in?
regards
Max
Thay were all sold in white, which is/was Japans racing colours, but alot have had their colour changed.
Some of the preproduction models were silver too.

Carl
