If your car is a MK1 (i.e. with pop up headlamps) you should look for a book by Rod Grainger (Veloce Publishing).  There\'s one for the pre-94 1.6 and one for the latter 1.8.

Also might be worth posting on the MX-5 Forum (http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/mx5forum/)  or subbing to the email list and asking there Email List (http://babel.fysh.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mx5)

I hope our administrators are brighter than the ones on MX-5 forum!

I joined the MX-5 Forum last year. Although I got a reminder every month in my email,  I could never log on to the forum. So, I emailed one of the administrators, saying I could not get onto the forum, and asked if there was any way to look at messages from a browser. I\'ll never forget the reply: " I dont know, why dont you ask on the forum!".

I tried signing up again yesterday, but have not had an email confrimation yet, I\'ll wait and see...

I also need a workshop manual, so I\'ll take the advice in this thread.

Plus, a friend is looking for an MX-5 around £2.5k - £3K.

I managed to work it out for myself in the end and yes the mx5 forum was not that good unlike the rotary forum!

I have a friend who is selling a fantastic Mx5 Eunos Roadster with full body kit, aftermarket alloys and exhaust - this is a great car look at

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2440744652&category=18211

There is not a great picture but ask me and i will post some up.  His is a genuine guy who is my best man at my wedding so you can trust him, he spent £4000 on the car then £6000 on mods so its a bargin.

he will accept 3k

The OC MX-5 forum was set up almost as a spare of the moment by one of the members.  Unfortunatley he was not that technically minded at system configuration  (as far as I can tell) PLUS works shifts so can be very hard to get hold of.

Most problems subbing were all down to the same problem - one of the security flags in MS Internet Explorer.  I subbed from work as a result but could log in from home as well once that was done.

Theres an archive of all technial postings on the MX-5 email list on MX-5 List Archive (http://fizzindi.demon.co.uk)  - this is manually done but still comprehensive.  I think there is a decent amount of information there on what to look for, also on the main OC site there is a very goodguide to Buying (http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/details/buyers.html) , though this is about 3-4 years old now.
