if you need to know anything - your best off looking in this section -

they are fantastic cars! beautiful and sexy too - get one thats mint and you wont go wrong - there are a couple for sale by some of our members. i have one and it hasnt given me a spot of trouble - apart from a loose battery terminal!
expect to pay aroound 6-7K for a decent example thats been looked after..
if your after an FC (MUCH more easy to work on) then these are easily obtained for much cheaper - but tend to get more rusty!
Also have a glance at this thread..may give you a bit of an overview

the other thing is ive looked around and seen quite a few rx7\'s now but ive seen some listed with 1.3 engines and some with 2.6
is this right ?
Have a look at the link at the bottom of my sig if you wanna see a fine example for sale thats had all the engine rebuilt and should give you loads of trouble free driving :)

i\'ll tell you all a story
i friend of the family runs a garage and at the beginning of the year a lad brought a 93 rx7 in for an engine rebuild and a full respray as the red paint had gone orange, just as the car was finished he gets a call from the rx7 owner saying hes just won 3 million on the lottery and he can\'t be bothered with the rx7 anymore :eek
so he tells my mate to just sell the car to get back the money that been spent on it
now hes offered it to me for £3000 because he just wants it out of his yard
this is why im asking all of thiese questions
on the log book it says it is a 1.3 is this right ?
Yeh that could be right mate.
Because of the way the engine works they decided that they (Govenment?) would put them down as 2.6 even though Mazda have them at a 1.3. So most imported cars come in and get registed as 2.6. You can get this sorted out and changed to 1.3 though, so the car your looking at could be classified as a 1.3.
All the new Rx8\'s are 1.3 classified.
Someone else migh be able to explain this better than me :D
Adam
They are technically 1.3 litre but because the rotary gives a much higher power output than an equivalent piston engine they were designated as a 2.6 litre, originally for the purposes of motorsport and now (unfortunately) for insurance as well.
Actually, all the new RX-8\'s a re classified as 2.6
I live in bourne matey if you ever need a hand with anything, i have helped take a couple of engines in and out and whatnot :bandit and have seen many an rx7 so can usually tell a good one from a bad one. But for 3 grand it sounds like the deal of the year :2eek
no worries mate 1.3 is the better of the two to have on the log book, cheap tax. as far as i am aware some people haev 2.6 which i believe technically is incorrect. i have 1.3 like i think the majority of people.
if the car has had a rebuild snap it up at that price, if you dont, give me the phone number and i will, and sell it for a profit.
hope this helps

Really :3Confused Got that all wrong then.
Mine is classed as a 2.6 but i\'ve heard you can get this sorted. But how??
Adam
