Title: pics of my rx7, finally done
Post by: richard cash on June 16, 2006, 12:15:37 AM
Have finally finished the exterior of my car. I bought the car with this colour but had to respray the bodykit, give the car a full flat down and polish up and ive added the spoiler, bonnet and wheels too. Now its all done ive just got to finish the boot install and the car can be featured.

let me know what you think:

im not sure on the intercooler as it was on the car when i got it. Its a big ass mofo though, and seems to do the job, that combined with the bonnet and water injection seems to keep the intake temp around 30deg. in this weather

Good job, stunning.  One minor thing, is the rear number plate on straight or is it just the photo angle?

Sorry to hear that. I think I would be a little upset if mine went pop too, hope you can get her sorted soon.

Post by: Kevin on June 17, 2006, 09:10:09 PM
Yeah, no point getting upset over nuts and bolts, anyway she still looks gorgeous even as an expensive paper weight.  It\'s only been in the country 2 weeks and not even registered yet!  Engine was on it\'s last legs when it arrived so I decided to celebrate the demise of the old engine going out with a 150mph bang!  :burnout

Gona order a few new bits and bobs then off she\'ll go for the works at WGT.  Either that or i\'ll stick it back on the boat to Jap land!

Wouldn\'t it have been easier to be able to drive her to Pips ? At least after the work you will have a guaranteed engine, firing out whatever power you were wanting.

It wouldnt of made it that far mate, it took about a week to get it firing, even then the coolant light was on and bleeping.  From getting her started to her blowing must of only been about 10-15 minutes tops.

When we got it started you could smell coolant coming from the exhaust fumes, and there was even traces of coolant in the plug wells when we originally thought it was flooded.  After 10 minutes of idleing there was coolant in the new oil and small traces of oil in the coolant.  It was definately game over.  Looking back im quite impressed we got the thing started in the first place!

Was a fun ride thou, considering how knackered it was, it pulled and pulled and pulled!.... You gotta love these cars!

Oh yes, they are certainly an impressive beast.

I hope you have more fun, and longer lasting, when you get your new motor  :3gears-rh

Me?....... Never...... :yes

Just cause you dont own a pink... errm i mean red mr-2 anymore dont take it out on me!  ;)  The MR-2 is running very well at the moment, but am afraid she still must go... My driveways look like yours Shaf... It\'s like a game of tetris everytime you want to move one of them.  :3Confused

Anyway this gives me good time to start collecting goodies for the RX-7.  Hopefully my T51R KAI kit should be arriving soon, then its just a matter of getting some pennies together for the rest of the bits and bobs.  :driving

How\'s yours running mate?

On a side note saw that D1 GP at Silverstone yesterday and christ some of those guys are mental.... I mean going 160kmh then kicking the back end out takes some balls!

Suprisingly.... No RX-7?.... It probably overheated trying to get out of the pits!  :rollin

The sides are Chargespeed and the front is a 99+ Sexy Style. The intercooler was just one of the ones off eBay.
Title: Love Your Paint Work...saw you saying about £950?
Post by: khyber pass on February 25, 2007, 08:56:25 PM
Richard

love your paintwork.:god

Saw your post about being able to do a paint job for £950 and being in Torquay...

May be interested in the offer.

My folks live in Tavistock so could kill two birds with one stone...:driving

My once was Dead Red Rex has just been brought back to life, but the paintwork is fading from the stock red...:Grrr

Not sure what colour we\'d be looking at...what can you do in terms of paint type...

Also, how long until it could be done, and roughly how long does it take to be done?

Cheers mate
