Hi All
I recently topped up my coolant and oil after noticing a drop in oil pressure.
now the car currently runs fine and never runs beyond the middle of the coolant heat gauge.
the coolant is topped up (a little above full, not sure if this could be the issue)
oil pressure is back to regular.
if there is anything i am missing could some one please advise or if there are any rx7 specialists in the weybridge area could any one recommend.

Going by the title of your thread, are you saying the coolant warning is going off all the time?
well the coolant light comes on for about 10 minutes then stops, i am currently not driving as i am worried i may be doing damage to the engine.
Hmmmm. I had that. Used to do it for 1 or 2 mins & then stopped. Turned out to be an airlock in the coolant.
Sounds like you may have the same problem. I just drained the coolant and put all new in.

From your first description (coolant level a little above full), it\'s possible you\'re adding coolant in the wrong place.
There are three caps, from left to right there\'s a white one down by the left headlight (looking from the front of the car), there\'s a cap with a yellow sticker in the middle and another cap near the intercooler towards the right.
You need to add the coolant to the middle filler, not the one on the left. I\'ll go and find a pic :)

i filler up the bottom left bottle.
thats bizzare though, how do i check? it if it in the middle bottle?
Just fill the middle filler to about an inch below the brim when the car\'s cold (don\'t open it when hot, it\'s under pressure). You might need to do it a few times but hopefully the coolant buzzer will eventually shut up :)

thanks for all your help, i didn\'t fill up too much coolant less than 1/8 of a litre.
it does look like there is some traped air.

i have been getting this problem too beep for 2 -3 mins and goes off last night i did see some steam coming from front of the car topped up this afternoon and no beep going to check over the weekend for week coolant pipes
ive had this beep too only for 30 seconds or so, but the levels are ok. Where do you drain the coolent and bleed it as ive read that this needs doing but cant find were it is
