Hi,first post so bear with me,started looking for a nice fd about six months ago,had allways fancied the cars,but like so many was a little unsure as to what,i was meant to be looking for!!
Thanks to the many knowledgable people on this forum,i was at least able to make the decision,and make a sensible purchase.
My original,intention was to go for a nicely modified and kitted late95-96 model cirka 10-12k,but having not driven one(not many on the isle of wight)i thought i would play safe and buy a standard car.A 92 Type r,came up in bournmouth,owned by Steve Bateman(superbike dealer)53000 miles,and an all important engine rebuild by rx motors at around 47000,standard with the exception of a Jasma exshaust,i have since put on a Arc airbox,new goodyear eagle f1s,refurbished the wheels,new mintex pads,plugs+oil change.Ihave most of the bills for work
done in the past(or since it was imported)which shows it has been well maintained with regular servicing,new clutch,pump,battery,all fairly recently.has been painted at some time,but all the panels are original and a clean hpi.Insurance well again,the forum was the place to look aon £280 fully comp(well you guessed by know im no spring chicken).Lived with a few
beemers in the past,including an m3,but i have to say these are
different animals,the only other car ive owned that gives a similar
rush was a MVS Venturi,even more rare than a spirit r.Guess so far ive been lucky,no problems at all,drives superb,engine pulls crisp and clean,starts first time everytime.
So i reckon im hooked,and have started to look for a newer modified one??wave

Find that cable to be in an odd position. Looks like a Halfords hifi cable? I\'d try and rethread that mate, looks as if it would melt right over the engine there, plus you don\'t want it getting stuck in anything!
