Title: RX8 wheels ???
Post by: blackrex on June 05, 2006, 09:23:32 PM
Hi,

Just a quick question I\'ve been thinking about putting some RX8 wheels on my RX7 I was just wondering if they will go straight on or will I need spacers, if I do what size??
And what would be the best size of tyre front and back.

thanks for your help

Rx8 wheels fit and look nice on the fd but the fronts on mine do scrape on full lock and that is with 225/40/18 tyres on.The rears could do with a 15-20mm spacer but other than those 2 minor problems, they suit the fd well and are easy to clean. This pic is not mine, but to give you an idea http://img274.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0712low2zd.jpg

225 40 18s all round.  No spacers required.  Speedo readings are exactly same.

Cheers
Jon

Same as jonrx7uk but i have 10mm spacers on the back, am about to replace them with 20mm spacers as i think they need to be brought out nearer the wheel arch just for cosmetic reasons, i have tryed the 20mm spacers and feel vertually the same as standard, just a little more tramming than usual but vertually unoticable and i do drive hard ;)

Thnx i have worked hard on the looks of the car, did the paint myself, Bit specil without over the top if ya see it in the flesh.

I get my spacers from the MX5\'s we import (about 120 cars a year), i have also seen some in halfords that will fit and in various motor discount stores.

There are also some top quality spacers on ebay from time to time with studs already integrated into them as they go upto 30mm.

No you should be ok, i just have em on cause i like the look of a slightly wider backend.
You may have a slight problem with scraping wheel arches on full lock on the front if ya have lowerd suspension.
