When i brake at high speeds, the steering wheel jussder like hell!!
when im just driving at high speeds it feels ok??
ive checked the fronts and the disks dont look to be warped.
any ideas?
Brett said he had the same problem on his soarer and he just changed the front tyres??
ideas anyone??
cheers

Make sure calipers are bolted on secure, had loose calpier on bike once, did just that.
Check pads are in securely and shims are not missing.
Check for uneven wear on disc.
Check tyres for small carbunkles in tyres that will throw balance out.
have you tried the easiest one so far, tyre pressures?
will this cause break judder??
N
i would check
1 - tyre pressure
2 - front bearings
3 - warped discs ( i dont think you would see it with the naked eye - does the peddle pulsate when you brake ?? )
4 - sticking caliper
5 - disc pads ( is one side worn more than the other )
if you think its a tyre - stick the backs on the front and test it - if it goes away then get some tyres - or leave the backs on the front - if it still there ( the judder ) then its one thing less to check :D

Yes tyre pressures could cause this but it sounds like a warped disk, you can\'t see this by eye you\'d need a dial gauge and mount to check properly. When i had this problem it was a warped disk but I couldn\'t feel it throught the peddle.
i can defo feel through the peddle, i initially thought it may be an ABS problem.
i believe that you can only really see it when its hot, so im thinking that it might be a cracked inner vane of the rotor??
looks like it will be new discs then.... DOH!!

If you can feel it under the pedal 99% discs are warped

I had the same problem on my last car.
Judder under braking. Turned out my front off side wheel as damaged.
Fitted a new one problem stopped. Inspected all four wheels for damage or flatted areas on the face of the wheel and the inside face. If you can\'t see anything get the balance checked.
Brake judder is usually due warped disks - you won\'t be able to visually see that they are warped. Warpage most often occurs due to an increased build up of heat, often because of very hard breaking very often. But sometimes break disks will warp for no obvious apparent reasons.
If you\'re not sure about the disks, get them removed and take to an engineering company so they can check the run out on them.

was this ONLY under braking??
Another major cause of warped disks is sitting on the footbreak at traffic lights etc rather than putting the handbreak on.

eeerrrmmmm..... that will be it then. i never use the hand brake. :spank
i cant believe its anything to do with the wheels and tyres?? surely if it was wheels i would have some sort of effect all the time??

I;ve just had similar & ended up cracking a disc 2 days before the new ones I had ordered arrived
check your suspension aswell, that can cause probs when braking
Just a thought mate, but when i had my old car this happended. It turned out to be a weight on the front wheel had come off.
