Title: 1 bar boost ( Kg )
Post by: michaelb on June 04, 2006, 08:52:42 AM
Hi All

I have always thought that I had a fairly stock RX..  It is a 96 RB Bathurst with 16bit ECU (jap models from 96 onwards have 16bit ECU unlike UK 8 bit  ECU), HKS back end , Blitz BOV, Re-yamia Boost Controller and Tein suspension.

I know the jap cars after 96 tend to be a touch faster than the UK models but here it is:

Today I really stepped on the car and watched my Boost Controller and to my total amazement it went up to 1bar while using around 3-4k revs… what is going on, I thought that stock RXs will go up to 0.75 â€" 0.80

The car always felt really fast…was there someting extra done to the car in Japan ?

As far as I know the car has not been de-cated , has no Apexi …..I even asked the Rotechnics if the car has a catalic converter and they said that it has…

Maybe it has been punched thruough?

What do you think?

Regards,
Michaelb

Could be the exhaust is fairly free flowing, this tends to cause boost to overshoot. Could be the boost controller needs winding back as well!
