Title: Oil Filter And Plug Recommends...
Post by: ATD on May 31, 2006, 08:55:04 PM
Guys, Hi.

I am hoping you can recommend filters and plugs for my 1993 RX7. No mods at all, and I will be using Castrol GTX 10 40.

Many Thanks

Ditto. I need a filter or 2. Is it just as cheap to go to Mazda?

I want to order a new oil, air and fuel filter, spark plugs and oil.

Shyautos phone going on voicemail, Halfords and Mazda Warrington were about as much use as a third armpit!

Can anyone send me in the right direction - happy to order online.

Just so everyone knows ATD had a return call shortly after this, unfortunatly if we are on the phone with customers it goes to voicemail.

ATD I know you were dismayed when I told you that we only recomend 7\'s for low comp motors, I have looked in my UK book as I said I would and it I was slightly wrong as It says you can also use 8\'s but as I said, no mention of 7\'s.meaning your 200% O/K for your application with 9\'s

Clive

Thanks for calling me back today, and for your time.

My mechanic is adament that he wants to put 7\'s in the leading and 9\'s in the trailing. I am going with him cos I have a good warranty with him and I am getting headache!!

Thanks again.

Gary

I have ordered some engine oil (Royal Purple)!!!, gear box oil and Purple Ice.

I will keep you guys updated on my thoughts on these products. Incidentally, I am having a second hand engine with 20,000 miles fitted as we speak. Is it necessary to change the oil and filter after the first 100 miles as you do on a rebuild?

If so, would I be ok using a cheaper oil for the first 100 miles?

Thanks
