Title: New RX-8 Versions + New RX-7
Post by: Deathknell on October 28, 2003, 11:00:46 AM
In the latest copy of Autocar featuring the Tokyo Motor Show, there are  a few new versions of the RX-8 shown. Firstly there is a Hydrogen powered version with an electrically boosted Turbo developing 95% of the power of the petrol version(they don\'t say which petrol version). There is also a Mazdaspeed version with boosted Torque curve, which sits 20mm lower and has new springs and brakes, a bigger grille, underbody diffuser and adjustable rear spoiler. This version may well come to UK according to Autocar.

They also show picture of new RX-7 :D which apparently will have a 1.6L rotary engine with increased block stiffness and better cooling with rumoured output of 300bhp.  :god A more powerful supercharged version is also on the drawing board. Scheduled for release in 2006. That should shut up all the power critics.
You see the RX-8 is the "family car" version and the RX-7 will be the "kiss my exhaust pipes" version. :p

Well worth a read (though most of the info given is included in this post)

Thanks.
