Title: Fd3s stock AIT info ( for those interested )
Post by: sdminus on May 29, 2006, 10:38:21 PM
I was bored on the way back from the hotel today so decided to log so differant stuff on my car. ( i dont usually share my logs and findings etc )

Following on from the water injection thread by blitzboy a question was asked of the stock AIT ( air intake temp sensor ) and how slow it is to react to changes.

The ambiant temp at the time of test was 10 deg C and the test was performed during a motorway drive and regular speeds.

At time interval 508.125 i gently squirted the car up to 9 psi of boost. at the time the ait was 16 deg C with 82 deg water temp. The car arrived at 9 psi at 510.131 ( this was a gentle squirt due to wet roads etc )

I was running a mix in my water injection.

At 512.203 the ait started to react dropping 1 deg to 15 deg C

it then continued to drop whilst i was off boost and cruising untill it stabalised at -6 deg C at time interval 541.937.

I posted this info up for those of you that have a interest in this and may find this info useful..

Scott

Pretty much and then some plus . It took a really long time to get down to the real temp. I was shocked tbh...... i was crusing in the traffic watchin the temps drop and drop till it was sub zero from which it then re heated.
