Title: Help Please. Need an Apexi MAP for a ported FD3 this week!
Post by: Jonathan_F on May 24, 2006, 06:05:29 PM
Hi. I have finally run in my twin turbo with the engine I built with my own bare hands. Not sure how good it is but I\'m booked in with Pip in 4 weeks. Its run in now with 1000 miles under her wheels.

Does anyone have a dataloggit and laptop and the above map I could have in the mean time?
She\'s very difficult to drive and I\'ve had to add 15% fuelling across the range over the standard Hurleys ported engine.

I live in Leicester/Birmingham area. I can drive over any night. Be good to have it for this weekend. There\'s somethng on isn\'t there?? :cool

Not got a ported map but if it\'s any use you can have a copy of my Power FC settings for my twin turbo. It was mapped by Pip last year.

It\'s just a text file so you would have some typing to do!

At your own risk of course!

You will need to adjust the timing for a ported motor. It would take as much adv as a stock port.

You could Conatct pip he will sell you a close ish map.

Thanks. Good ideas. Pips fully mapping it in 4 weeks in any case.
I wanted to get on the strip though this weekend. I will anyway but at 0.5 bar its no fun!
Think anybody there will have their laptop and can drop a map into mine on the day?

It\'s NOT a good idea to just upload and run someone else\'s map! Every engine is different and allows for different amount of ignition.

You could upload and then tweak it.

Just thinking of your engine and pocket.

Maybe one of the guys with the datalogit etc, could offer an "on-site" mapping service over the RS3 weekend??

admittedly most of them will probably be eager to watch or take part in the action, but would certainly earn them a little bit of extra cash!!  :burnout

Your right I know!. But i\'m I\'ll be keeping the boost low. I\'m using the original map at the moment from Pip when it was a Hurley street port. My porting is more extreme so I\'ve had to chuck is a blanket 15 fuel hike across the whole range using the PIM section. Not ideal I know.
I should wait really.  :Yawn
