I don\'t want to sound off, but this is not an old subject, theres a section called "General Queries / Hints and Tips on purchasing a rotary"

I have spent the last 8 months looking for a Nice Fd for the same budget ;) Compresion test is a Defo but make sure its done Properly with the correct tool. Be a bit wary of the engine at 51k, i\'m sure thet people will tell you that they will go on until 100k but if its not got recipts for a Rebuild make sure you have a bit of cash set aside.

As for what else to look for?? Well every thing you\'d expect to look at an over 10 year old car, Any dodgy repaires,Bad bushes at the rear, Worn drivers seat, Missing trim. Stuff like that.

I\'ll give you two peices of advice, Buy with your Head not your Heart!! i.e don\'t buy it becouse it looks nice!!

And

Do alot of reading up!! Old posts / new posts find out what to expect. There is lots of Info on this Forum, this is an old subject that has alot of posts on, spend an hour reading up and you\'ll be better for it when you go to see the Car.

I can\'t stress how much useful info there is on this forum! I bought my first rx after reading up on here for about 2 weeks, I wish I had waited and read this forum for at least 2 months before buying!
Just read absolutely everything, you\'ll be amazed what you learn. Also find as many nice friendly members local to you and go and see their cars if you can, it will give you such a good idea of what a good car should look/sound/drive/perform like!

Thats a brilliant bit of advice there. I did the opposite and had a load of problems! All sorted now though :)
Shame your budget isnt a little higher, as i have a very nice example for sale ;)

All the above is very good...... I bought with my heart not my head, and touch wood..... where is it...Aaahhh there it is, I\'v had no issues!!
Paid 4700 for mine and coverd 5000 faultless miles since I bought it12 months ago!! Starts first time, every time and sounds FAB, although I have to do a bit of TLC on the body work side of things!!!

Sounds like a good car, but i\'d still wanna go see it up close. You could be on to a winner and its a good car, or it might have all the engine work done but be a bit tatty. Depends what kinda car your after. Something in tip top condtion or something you can improve on... if you no what i mean :)

As long as its got proof of the Build and is nice when you look at it then your looking good..
