How big can the lip get on your discs before you have to replace them? My Dad said they were getting a bit warn and kinda illegal :(
Perhaps a good opportunity to get uprated ones! :evillaugh
Kind Regards,
Darran.
I just go by the disc thickness on the area where the pad runs...once it gets close to the minimum allowable (stamped on the disc) i change it
If you go by what the manufacturer recommends then stock thickness is something like 22mm, the allow wear of 2mm before replacing. That would be 1mm per side.

Hmm...looks like I may have to put my hand in my pocket again.
Has anyone else put Hi-spec discs and calipers etc on their rex? would be interested to know what you thought of them.
As much as I like Geoff at Hi-Spec I wouldnt put their brakes on my FD. They just are not the right product for a performance car. Suited for the saxo nova market. IMHO.
They used to do the stuff for EBC, not sure if they still do or not. Get yourself some black diamonds.

I was trying to stay away from black diamond stuff. They look like they\'re made of cast iron or something. I wish AP, KAD, or Brembo did a kit for the rear as well as the front.
Know what you mean, but losing the handbrake might be an issue. :(

I have been talking to HiSpec over the last yearwhile the new calipers were been developed, as yet there are no kits available, might be soon, ring me tomorrow if you want to know more. 07973 111333

Yeah, that\'s why I asked about the Hi-spec stuff. The guy from BilletBlitz uses them in his brake kits and he mentioned they do a handbrake caliper.
Thought Hi-spec 6 pot calipers up front and 4 pot handbrake calipers for the rear might have been alright.
Would probably take a huge amount of work to get it all functioning properly though. I just dont want to shell out on an AP or Brembo kit for the front and then have some weedy mismatched looking calipers and discs on the rear.
