1, Lift the boot carpet.
2, Squeeze clips off pipes and twist off.
3, Remove wiring plug. This can be brittle.
4, Undo screws around the plate. Dont lose any!
5, Lift up and waggle until out. Allow time for petrol to drain away.

Thats about it.

I disconnected the fuel pump with the engine running - it helps to depressurize the fuel system - engine wil run on for a few seconds.

Still have a cloth ready, as you would be suprised how much fuel is still in the return pipe waiting to cover you from head to foot when you ping them off the end.  :(

I also found that the new pump didn\'t have an earth return wire for the fuel meter, so it ready Empty until I connected a lead to the cover plate.

Not sure about the FD, but the FC has a little yellow jumper to \'prime\' the fuel system again once you have it all put back together.  Short this out, and turn the key only as far as the first two stops - fuel pump will operate to pressurize the system again.  Switch off and then remove jumper - you\'re ready to go...  :driving
