Title: Battery Size-how Small Are We Going?
Post by: Jonathan_F on May 17, 2006, 07:24:15 PM
How small are people going?
I have a YUASA 18Ah (NP18/12) lined up. I have no CCA figure as yet.
This is a sealed motorbike battery from the Triumph Rocket 2.3.
Will this crank the engine? Will it last in service?
I\'ve seen a post with a Redtop 20 and 40 used. Have no source for these yet.
Any info would be useful.

Regards,

Jonathan

I\'ve had a pc680 in the car for over 12months. It does loose charge now and then or if i over crank the engine but been fine in service. Tiny battery too.

I\'m using a redtop 30 and it\'s absolutely fine.  Cranking no problem and can stand 2 weeks plus and not be drained by the alarm.  Not cheap but a pretty compact thing.  Also has a nice carbon-effect case if you\'re moving it from the engine bay!

I sourced a YUASA YTX20L-BS.
I\'ll let you know if it can crank her (she\'s definately a she) later on.
