My Tt Is A Complete Virgin When It Comes To Mods.
What Is The Potential Without Going Single?
Whats The Difference Between Single And Twin?
Any Ideas?
it all depends on how much power you want. I belive the twins are good for a reliable 350hp i know some are running more. Twins will give you a smoother run through the power range where as the single will come in later and give you a fantastic pull form 4-5K and above. A single will throw you back into your boot (depending on what one you go for) whilst deffening all around you :cool
Its some thing that best to decide on earlier rather than later so you can get fueling etc upto scratch before having the single fitted.
I have both a twin turbo and a single turbo FD. The single is much more fun but the twin is easier to drive around town.
Auy idea what you want from the car?
on twins you can look at 310 - 320 fairly easy and thats quick enough for most of us sane people. single ??? lots and lots.
difference is how the power comes on line and stays on line, twins spool very quickly but less power, bigger means a bit more lag but more power in the long run.
personally im in the Twin camp.

I Would Like To Stay Twin, But I Havent A Clue What To Do For Power
Ideas Welcome
!st go buy an Apexi PFC ecu
2nd Lose the cat or buy a hi flow jobbie, higher flowing backbox
3rd Install better cooling [bigger SMIC / FMIC] +WI
4th Bigger fuel pump, injectors, FPR
5th Get it mapped with all the goodies
= 300ish WHP or 360ishFWHP :mmmm
Give one of the tuners a ring above and have a good chat. I have pushed the twins, see below. But I will be going single this year, as I want more.
Come to RS111 and have a chat with us all. :wave

Listen to a man with FD experience and of which i totally agree on. :Thumbs-up
Basically, John\'s reply implies the hidden extra i.e. If you go single, there\'s this extra cost to consider.
I was twin for 5yrs and been single for 2...no i\'m still married with 2 boys!! :D
Personally, i prefer the single and i do use my FD all the time, so i\'m not guessing..low revs acceleration encourages Corsa/Saxo encounters..with the single, you know who\'s boss..but i know there are twins out there who will disagree. It doesn\'t really matter, as the essence of it all is owning a fantastic car, no matter how cheap they may be..i keep saying, that in the future, a Rotary museum is a must!

Whats The Difference
Where you mount you uprated intercooler
1 in the same place as it is now [stock mount]
2 In front of the water radiator which is put in an upright position
3 In a \'V\' formation where the intercooler is mounted at 90deg. to the rad

What John said really...
My mods in the order they were done are:
1. Apexi ECU
2. Wide down pipe
3. Racing Beat back box
4. Blitz Air filters
5. Remapped at 320fwhp at 0.8 bar boost
6. V Mount intercooler - follow this link and scroll down and you will see my installation. http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20967
7. Replace Blitz with Apexi air filters
8. Crane Cams Ignition Amp
9. Uprated fuel pump, injectors and fuel rails
10. Decat and unsilenced mid pipe
11. Light weight under drive pulleys (aircon removed to accomodate V Mount)
12. Remapped at 0.9 bar boost (on the road so I don\'t have a current fwhp figure - any guesses anyone!)
These sort of mods should give around 360fwhp however, more if you turn the boost up to say 1 bar. Having said that if you whack the boost up too high then you have to expect to impact the longevity of your engine.
All the best

Why Put A Blitz Filter In Just To Replace It
Can I Put An Apexi On Straight Away Without Upgrading Ma Ecu
I Want To But Some Induction Soon, Maybe At Rs3, What Is The Best In Your View

There was a fair time between but the two but the main reason was that the V mount wouldn\'t fit with the Blitz filters in there.
I think the conventional wisdom is that filters and back box are all you can really change before having to get an Apexi ECU. As soon as you decat and fit a wide downpipe I believe you\'re pretty much into remap mode...
