Post by: davpowell on May 14, 2006, 09:49:54 PM
just left house few hours ago got 10 yards down road engine cut out smoke comin from bonnet jumped out lifted bonnet and flames shooting out from the head light and under the wheel arch. cut long story short fire brigade came put it out etc. now left with wireing loom burnt to f**K.luckily doesn look like any other damage. anyone in my area who could come and have a look or recommend an auto electrician to hav a look. think it needs replacing not sure if it can be reconnected or not looks very bad though. and to make things worse windows are open and obviously cant close them.
location by the way is carshalton. near A217.

nope just standard i believe. well hav cleaned it up and stripped back all the burnt cables but there is well over 80 cables to reconnect and would take ages to resolder and there is no guarantee that it will still work so looks like i mite just claim on insurance otherwise think it will cost to much.
