whatever should i do with them :Hammer
How about this? :WaveBye

i can ne see!
Those lines need smoothing out. But bloody big holes they are. :D
Fish
:chat :guinness fook me does it run????!!!!!
when you say lines need smoothing out, ya mean taper them outwards onto the face of the endplate? Turns out the templates have fallen through......
Do ya reckon era would be willing to give that a go for me???
Got me own templates.......... :Typing :cool
what for 6 port bridgeports???? youve kept them quiet!
:cheers
I only tell people what they need to know............. :cool
well then my friend.......i shall have to endevour to convince you that i NEED to know about 6 port bridges....
;)

I\'m sure if you ply him with guiness he\'ll be more than happy to help.
hell ill brew my own if thats what it takes...:d
Even bigger

was that a six port? JESUS! hes blended them together!
Steveo
:god
it might look impresive but how does it drive ? no good making peak power 2000rpm after your engines blown due to being over revved !
too true! i spose hes gonna have idle issues too lol

My thoughts to M,...... :rollin
Hmmm I reckon it wouldnt let too much moer fule/air in thana decent sized PP though? would it. Most big ported rotors, whether they be bridgies, J-ports or PP\'s usually idle very high compared to stock/mild port and they rev to the heavens if built well enough. i.e 10,000-11,000rpm.
cheers for the photos, michael.
That motor will def win the brapping sound off comp.......... :Typing
Isn\'t it more down to port timing rather than size, I think that 6 port will close very late and open really early due to the bridge (I quite can\'t picture it in my head without searching for that website with all the ports drawn out with the rotor edges on it at open and close)
The brapping and poor idle is all down to the ehaust and inlet overlap, basically *I think* Is the noise down to exhaust gas trying to escape out the inlet port or have I got completely the wrong end of the stick ?
I suppose it makes less odds at higher rpm\'s as you will have a pressure wave sucking the exhaust products out and a positive one pushing the mixture in
^ just thinking out loud .... anyone else know what really goes on and explain it ?
My post was tongue in cheek bro.....sic sense of humour..... :evillaugh :spank :rollin
I know ... but you got me thinking ;)
That motor will be \'happy\' just to idle at 4000rpm,airflow will be pi$$ poor..... :Nono!
wow, this is turning into an informative thread for me....
Im sat quietly...ya wanna begin with the difficult stuff now? :wave :Hammer

Aint no dificult stuff bro.... :Nono! just common sense... :cool
yeah experience cant hurt tho bro :p
i bow down to your jedi-master-like wisdom!
Look a good port job but it\'s better not to port a bridge, bridge look too long ,will collapse due to sonic vibrant.(spelling?? ).
Correct me if i am wrong!
Ian
yeah i beleive ya can go over the top if you, say, extend port a bridge....
bet its the same case for 6 ports when ya join them in the middle...
Bridge can be incredibly thin, it\'s the depth that will kill it. Anyway... PP + Nitro, like we were saying on the phone. Picture (http://www.mazdatrix.com/pictures/racing/r19-1.jpg)
Have a guess how much hp that 6 port bridge put out at the wheels...
246bhp@7600rpm
At the wheels, I reckon 180hp.
so when do we find out???
cheers, michael.
its a hard one......judge ITO says hes got 250 from a decent 6 port bridge
Quote from: travellinbobAt the wheels, I reckon 180hp.

As much as my street ports with 48 IDA put on the wheels........ :D
nah i reckon its more than 180.... plus era, you gotta help me build one with more than that!
Steveo
Be patient young squire.... :cool
Remember that an engine loses roughly 30% of its power through the drive train so 180 at the wheels in a lightish car is pretty good.
cheers,michael.
I\'d be over the moon if my car had 180 at the wheels
Quote from: MikeLMRI\'d be over the moon if my car had 180 at the wheels
Got a motor for you Mike...... :evillaugh
Excelent ... when can you deliver :Giggle
Bring your car and I will fit it !!!!!!!! :)
:D:D:D i cant wait though!
and damnit bob i forgot he said at the wheels...in which case.....conservatively 220HP
:P
It\'s never been dynoed but here\'s what the owner told me about it....
hey mate, my friend who built the DAFF1E DX he originaly had a 6port bridgeport before his pp. his ports were slightly smaller than mine and he had 226hp at the wheels with an ida
his pp had 239at the wheels,
so mine would have been some where in between i would guess
but i never had mine dynoed
booooya!
get in :cool
Another big port pic (aka monster j port). This is in a street car btw.

Now that is just plain rude!!!! You could stick your head through those holes!
top pic.
interesting old post.
Interseting old thread.

so im guessing no one has ported a 6 port wildly over here then???
Quote from: dubber91;671029so im guessing no one has ported a 6 port wildly over here then???
It seems daft to bridge port a 6 port when a 4 port bridgy done properly makes more power.
Regards
Carl
good point. when done well.
any hp figures from your NA bridge\'s carl? ive seen your na PP figures - very good.
