Well after alot of searching and asking about i\'ve used Rubber Hose from Mazda.

Alot of people say Viton is the way to go but i here once it gets oily the pipes tend to slip of quite easy, Sillicone is a bit hit and miss, i have had some experiance with it going soft at highish temps but i here its quite good?

But after Thinking alot about it the OE pipe has lasted over 10 years and thats all i ask of it so i went for OE.

Can I ask, how many people have replaced these vacuum hoses?

You arent a real RX7 owner until you have replaced them lol

Did mine in viton in the end, got it fairly cheap.

At least I know how to do it now in case I need to do it.

Its certainly a leg/arm/hand/arm aching job and I wouldnt recommend doing it unless you have to.

The silicon kits I\'ve seen from the states all come with tie-wraps for the ends so I guess you could use them on whatever you use for it. I\'ll do mine when the engine comes out :)

I think there may also be a Price issue to think about too.

I payed £50 for the Hose and Steel clips

The Us Kits work out about  Â£80 with Zip ties + Shipping etc

The Viton, well i was qouted £230 from the cheapest place i could find thats plus Clips or Zip ties.

I also found the Viton hose is quite hard to get hold of with the correct wall thickness.

This is not a nice job to do when the Engine is out so i am guessing its realy bad when its still in the car.

Hmm thats strange, got my viton from RX Motors, really easily.

Cost me £10 a metre and I needed 5 metres to do it.

I recommend putting tie wraps on the hoses though, I think even if I was using rubber I would still put them on. Got told that I wouldnt need them but not taking the chance.

Yeah I did mine when it was in the car....as I said before.....expect your body to hurt the next day !!! Plus it was even worse 2 days later !!

Tips I can give you that were given to me and really useful, get yourself some decent long nosed pliers, a sharp knife (got a stanley one that was good), good side cutters and a heat gun for loosening the hoses on the solenoids.

40 feet of 3.5mm (all small solenoids).
- 16 feet of 6.0mm (larger air lines on engine).
- 4 feet of 8.0mm (larger air lines on engine).

Thats what i got a qoute off.

Ah, I only ordered the solenoid ones.

They threw in the rest. it was silicon pipe, was only about a metre.

The type/amount was advised for me, didnt have to provide that info to them. Its the same stuff they use for their engine rebuilds.
