i have been looking on the offical Japanese D1GP web site and have noticed that the Apex\'i, RE Amamiya, and 1 of the other FD\'s run stock ports on their engines. Only 1 FD and 2 FC\'s have modifed porting. Is there a reason they don\'t have porting????
I can only guess but i think they dont need massive amounts of power to drift as the fd is very twitchy anyways so may be harder to drift with even more power ? :Laugh
all porting does is move the power band slightly higher/....drifting doesnt require power at the top end...it needs the lower end grunt especially on more technical tracks...
there we go job done cheers fellas
I don\'t believe that they are making:
Power: 460BHP
Torque: 50kg-m
Turbocharger: APEX RX6 TCW76-P27 Turbine(Boost set-up 1.0kg/cm2)
Without porting, esp at 14PSI of boost - i was running 17 on my RX before the engine died at that was only 360BHP at the wheels...
i suppose tho these guys benifit from regular rebuilds from the best in the buisness.... mmmmmmmmm what fun :Laugh

but what fuel are they using, if it is standard (even Jap standard 100RON) I\'d agree, but I expect they are using race fuel?

Maybe they have some home kept secrets? :Giggle Not unusual for those clear Japanese.
It\'s always been like that in the past. They\'ve always kept the best for themselves, then release them a few years later when they are outdated in the home market.
those figures are flywheel power figures.
Most Jap measures are at the flywheel.
Not hard to get a 450hp ( fly ) fd with bolt on parts.
