Title: changing exhaust
Post by: vxer on May 13, 2006, 01:43:19 PM
Hi guys,

I\'m changing my cat back right now. Once i\'ve undone the actual bolts holding it onto the cat, how do i unattach the rest of the hook type things holding the back section to the car?

Ta, Paul.

Yikes! How do you get the new exhaust back on without them?

For anyone wondering, here is how you do it, keeping the rubbers!

Soak each metal hanger bit in the rubber in WD40 before you try pulling them out. Makes it much easier. They do come out in the end.

Also, when refitting the new exhaust, coat the metal hanger parts in WD40 before refitting.

Doesn\'t take too long - you need two ppl really though!  :Thumbs-up

Cheers, Paul.

I would put new rubber mounts on anyway. There only 80/90p a piece from any car exhaust shop. If you ask them they normally have a big wall display with loads of different ones on it.
