Title: Parts prices
Post by: Martiny on October 24, 2003, 10:45:03 AM
Hi All
A friend of a friend has crashed an FD, and the insurance Co are going to write the car off due to the cost of the parts. He would prefer it to be repaired. They have agreed to repair it, if he can get parts cheaper.

Can anyone do anything about these prices?

OSR Lamp                         - 234.55
OSR Reflector                    - 76.39

I am not sure if they would consider used parts, though, I\'ll check.

Thanks for any help.

What year is the car Martin?

I think he\'ll do very well to avoid a write off - thats what, £4K+ in parts or thereabouts? Even if he fitted the lot himself (guess it would have to be jigged/pulled about first though) thats still probably more than the book value according to the insurance company. Is there any thing specific on the car he wants? probably better/cheaper/easer to buy the w/o off the insurance company and strip it?

:( Tough break.

I take it these are parts prices from Mazda?

Is there any motor factors that do copy/pattern parts for the RX7?

If a bonnet pad is the padding on the underside of the bonnet then my bonnet has this too and it would be included.  Thats all I can think it would be but im sure its not essential anyway.
