Title: GEN 2 inlet fanimolds.....whats the difference??
Post by: dubber91 on May 07, 2006, 01:59:12 PM
just whipped off my inlet fannimould, and am comparing it to another 6 port manifold (currently connected to the dellorto carb i want to fit).....under the 1st, 2nd, and 5th and 6th ports there are single quadrilateral-shaped holes on the one on the carb, yet on the one just come off the car there arent. In addition to this the one that had just come off had butterflies on two ports, whilst the one fitted to the carb has actuators (or the pushrods for) fitted.

Are they interchangeable? They are definitely both 6 port.

please see pics!

Also, if anyone had info on 6 port porting (i hear a bridge is possible!) please let me know!

swap the lower manifolds over, the one attached to your carb manifold is for the US type 6 port which has sleeves instead of throttle plates.

The lower manifold I have has had all the extra bits choped out, blanked and smoothed

can i get rid of the 6th port actuators etc? Will that lead to rough running at idle/low rpm?
What bits need blocking off etc?
