Post by: chrisJDM on May 06, 2006, 07:53:27 PM
Thought i would do a coolant change on my car and went to halfords and bought there best stuff, drained the system and put the new one in, the new coolant was a pinky orangery colour, i thought i heard a while back on here to only use green or blue coolant, will it be ok with the pink stuff??

You want to be using the glycol based antifreeze (blue/green) if poss the pink stuff does work but becomes acidic as it breaks down so don\'t keep it in too long.

i think the pink halfords stuff is a 5 year antifreeze,so no need to change it any time soon
