Title: which dump valve, bov??
Post by: jamie_eaton on May 04, 2006, 09:39:54 PM
hello guys im replacing the intercooler pipeing i have on the right hand side with somethings similair to my crappy drawing, reason i just want the nice clean tubing in stead of bends and hoses, other reason i want my new rad fitted upright instead of the standard position it has been fitted, i couldnt have it fitted upright before due to this pipe and dump valve.
Any way since i was going to do to this i was wondering if some one could tell me what dump valve i have? there is no markings any where, i think it may be a greddy one as i have seen one very similair.
Would i be best off leaving it on the side its on of if possible have it fiitted to the other side on the turbo pipe, would there be any difference?

I think you can buy the weld on boss seperate so all you do is swap it over. Are you going alloy or stainless tube for the new setup, plus make sure it clears the powersteering pump too, may need a small bend off the elbow too !

have you got any sound bites of your greedy type R BOV\'s. I had one on mine and couldnt even hear it, swapped to a type S and still i can barely hear anything, just a muffled low noise, like they have silencers on them, but they dont.

Its hard to explain but im going to try cutting off the flange and welding it on the throttle side of the FMIC, im hoping its just that thats muffling the noise but im doubtful.

heres a pic of where it is:

so my advice: Dont swap to the turbo side, although ill let you know more when i get somewhere to weld it in the new place :)
