Title: One more engine swap question RX-8 into RX-7
Post by: McPie on May 04, 2006, 07:10:15 AM
Hi all,

Do anyone have ever made this convertion?
I mean 1.3 13Brenesis 170kw High power into fc3s.

How much kw or hp can handle fc3s?
what about fuel pump does presure rx-7 is equal to rx-8

Think rx-8 engine better than now mb 2.3-16v engine :D

Idea:
rx-8 engine, gear box, ecu, wires, cardan
fd3s LSD diferential
FC3S drive shaft

Looking forward for your comantaries

There are plenty of people getting 500bhp + out of the 13BT engine, all be it with BIG TURBO and Front Mount Intercooler, and aftermarket ECU, injectors etc...

People have swapped the 13B-REW and the 20B engines into the FC chassis, but this usually involves some work.

In all fairness, a well maintained 13BT engine is going to be more powerful than a Renesis - I have no trouble overtaking them  :mmmm  :Laugh

But if you want a big project, it could be fun  :)

it\'s not a problem to pick up TII or other 13B TT

but there is a possibility to get cheaply 13b from rx-8 2004 year engine. Only 14k miles run.

So I think why schould I mess with OTTO engines when I can have fun with VANKEL and "almost new engine". This week I\'ll decide change engine or not. Couse I still don\'t know its condition. Hope it will be good :)

Buy the way I like to work with my car so it will be a pleasure for swap like this

If you really want to do this you would probably need the whole car mainly due to the wiring loom which is very complicated on the RX-8.

As has been said already, it will be far better to find a crashed TII because it will be immediately as fast as the RX-8 conversion that you are thinking of but you will be able to tune the TII engine to give a lot more power than you will with the RX-8 engine.

I think that if you go to all the trouble of installing the RX-8 engine you will be disappointed knowing that you could have a much faster car by doing the TII conversion.

BTW you will see that you are now registered as an Overseas Guest  :D

Hope this helps.

Depend on new engine not power.

and I understand that Tii will be much easyer to install than rx-8
