Title: Motorised screen HU in an FC?
Post by: Kron on April 29, 2006, 12:05:02 PM
Has anyone fitted a single din motorised pop out screen headunit in an FC?

I just wondered if there would be any problems due to the overhang of the heater/air con control panel?

Having not seen an FC dash in the flesh so to speak, but going by the pictures I have seen you should have no problems.

Why not ask a local audio dealer (Halfrauds inc) and see if they will test fit one as you are looking at buying. Or consider a JVC AVX2 and possibly a second screen !!

i wouldnt worry about the overhang too much, i would be thinking about the gear knob which is quite close to the headunit, wouldnt it slightly be in the way?? or would it just clear it?!

It is probably the same as the FD and mine just clears the gearknob in neutral, not tried it while the lever is in a forward position though.
