Title: It never ends
Post by: jay on April 28, 2006, 06:18:55 PM
After 4 years of ownership ( still on the original engine 45k) and what seems like a small fortune, i think i may nearly have finished the FD.
Well when the Work Meister splits arrive (let down on the Gramm lights).
A massive thanx to Clive who has done the single conversion and offered invaluble assistance and advice thru the years. Also a huge thanx and respect to the boys at REworx in particular Max for their skill\'s, they have helped many times including makin my car safe for a trip to silverstone ( for no cost).
Tuned it to the max with twins and decided to go single(Binliner.....quality kit).
Any way here is a full spec and pics. Recently recorded 344atw on standard fuel and Ports.
Ther is alot of talk about how unreliable and fragile these cars are but if looked after they can last. Without doubt the best motor I have ever owned.

Hi Jay,

Car is loking really sweet, that is some spec list. Respect due. I like the wheels that are on it, really look good with the silver and suit the car very well. What about the later spec rear lights and maybe CWest fronts to replace the pop ups. Think thats only things I would do to it now.

Damned nice car! Always loved silver FDs with black and silver-rimmed wheels :)

To make it perfect you need the Mazdaspeed 15th Anniversary wing..it\'s the one on this car... http://www.rotaryextreme.com/99bumper-3.jpg

Looks real nice matey, a word of advice on the Work Meister rims, i have them on mine, make sure you clean them off after every drive, cuz mine are now completley fooked cuz the brake dust/road salt as eaten thru the top laquer coating and stained the nice shiny rims, which means i need to get them re-furbed and will lose the funky writing around the rims.

The guy i got them off gave me the same advice (which i obviuosly ignored to my cost)

Nick

I found the same on my work rims already I put it down to the brake pads I was using, luckily enough I\'d hoping mine will polish out

Same story with my 57 F-Pros, you have to clean off the brake dust otherwise it will eat through the top coat, I wash them off and use some metal polish to bring them up like new. Must admit my old pads didn\'t do this but the Endless pads certainly do!

From memory I\'m using Sparkle, chrome packaging with blue writing - great stuff! I\'m searching for other stuff though as I\'m getting small scrapes in the dishes from stones which I\'d like to try and repair! Same goes for bl00dy swirl marks in my paint, always a pain!!

Jay, if you decide to sell your wing let me know! I\'d be interested in trying it out!

I was thinking on some mothers or poorboys wheel wax

Sorry it\'s called Peek! I also find when washing that a paintbrush works a treat in those hard to reach places like the bolts etc... Also wise to take the wheel off every few months to give it a thorough clean on the inside too. ;)
