Title: Uprated brake options for FD?
Post by: D2BBA on April 25, 2006, 04:33:04 PM
Hi folks,

Wonder if someone can help with this one...

I’m looking for an cost effective brake upgrade for my FD.  It’s a late ‘92 Type R, so I don’t know if it came with larger discs or not, but I need more stopping power (and nicer looking discs! :cool )

I was looking at Project Mu - SCR Brake Rotors for the front,  factory replacement rears and an upgraded pad.  However this little lot will cost a few £££s (the Mu’s alone are £280).

Can any one offer an alternative?  There are several front & rear combos on ebay, but I don’t know if they would be total crap or not!

I would also be very interested if anyone has trailed the Mu’s.

Ta
Chris

I\'ve got grooved discs from //www.speedways.co.uk & endless CC-X pads sourced thru newera. I\'ve got the pads along on my subaru on stock discs & they do stop you very well. Only down side i know of is the dust is slighty corrosive so wheels need to be washed regulary.

Cheers for the tip bud

Hmmm i\'ll give it some thoughts, it aint too much more expensive to go for a named disc and pad set tho.

In case its ever any use to you Project Mu do a performance pad with very little brake dust for show cars (they stop good too aparantly!)

Hmmm,

I do like the look of the larger Endless rotors, however the price is a bit steep when I take into consideration all of the other mods that are going on.

Do you do a more budget 16 / 17" disc?

Thanks
Chris
