i have unorthodox pulleys (air pump removed) and the belt is worn out. i havn\'t yet been able to find a replacement and as i don\'t have a spare car, i can\'t take the belt off and drive around motor spares shops looking for the right one! does anyone know where i can get a belt that will fit? the current one says \'DAYCO 6PK 1030\' on it, but a Google search doesn\'t really help.

Another option is to take the belt off, measure it and get yourself a \'Gates\' belt.

try a place that does industrial belts ... from a quick look at the photos the 6PK seems to relate to the number of grooves ...and I\'d be inclined to guess (so thats not a sure fire ... just a guess!!) that the 1030 is the length of the belt in mm\'s if you find a good suplier they will have a much better idea.
for example in Lincoln we have James Dawsons ... they are in the yellow pages (yell.com) under the Belting Manufacturers section.
Like Fish said ... a suitable Gates part number would be ideal though as they are widely available.
Have you tried contacting the supplier of the pullies for the correct spec ?
P.S Buy another when you work out that it fits OK ... always good to have a spare
6pk is the number of ribs and the other number is the size if they label up as normal with belts. If you go into parts supplier they should be able to get you a belt from those numbers.

cheers guys.i\'ll phone around tomorrow morning.
closest i have found so far is a 1028. will this be ok? presumably you just loosen the belt slightly to match the tension?
You got it.
