Title: timming on a 13b
Post by: mpk490p on April 21, 2006, 08:58:08 AM
hi all i have a jap import 13b in a series 1 the engines all in and i thought running fine she always starts and runs ok once warmed up a bit (exhaust is blowing so its sounds a bit loud at the mo) the cars going for a mot soon and hasnt been driven for 6 - 8 years i belive so i thought i would take it for a spin round the block,
it was all fine but when i put my foot down nothing seemed to happen! it gradually gained speed but it felt like it needed more fuel but the pump seems fine, the engine was running fine in a previous car i owned and has only been put into another shell so im confident theres nothing major, the timming was lost when i was cleaning the engine, the main pully was left on it was just the dizzy, everything sparks ok but it feels like a timming problem, i have taken a couple of picture and just wondered if anyone with a 13b could check theres so i can get it close, i want to drive the car to wgt once mot and get a weber fitted so they can fine tune it just need to make sure im close (also the engine has been ported does this make a difference?)
the pictures were taken with the pully on the leading mark
many thanks
Mark
