Post by: chris@yoco on April 20, 2006, 11:32:47 PM
hi people

right time has come and the clutch on my fd is starting to slip

can anyone direct me to the best place to get a replacement

i am also on a tight buget whats best to get on a buget of around £200 not sure if i can get for this price and fitting i would do myself

and is it advised to replace the flywheel to if so is it advised to go for a lightened flywheel or just no worry and just replace the clutch

any info would be good or if you have any clutches for sale and flywheels please let me know

regards

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately your not going to get your clutch supplied and fitted for this sort of money.

If you fit it yourself rather than the £150ish for someone to fit we can supply you a stock clutch for £225 + vat, this way you can at least get near your target price.

Hope this helps.

Exedy Stage one Clutch with cerametalic centre plate and release bearing for £350 plus vat this clutch offers any Twin Turbo car  a very good cheap bolt straight in upgrade that also still lets your car be road friendy without the jerky stuff that goes with race clutches if you havent got enough revs :D

We can also do light alloy flywheels for the above at £300 plus vat

Chris there is an adjuster on the actual clutch pedal, it might be worth having a go with this to see it makes any difference before investing in a new clutch. If the bite is at the top?. Its a simple turnbuckle affair and just a case of winding it in-or out, its a bit fiddly to get a spanner on, but worth a go :)

does not matter what oil for clutch, brakes will determin that, use a decent 5.1 fluid.

or if your a serious track noddy, use a race fluid.
