Hi

I have used them on a previous car, they did not do a particularly good job. The area they repaired went cloudy and the clear coat eventually cracked/crazed. They guarantee their work but you\'ll only get the same guy back again. I suppose it depends on the skill of the local chipsaway guy, you could always get a quote and ask if you can see some of his previous work.

Hope this helps
Gareth

Same as above, Iv\'e used them twice 1st time the guy was really good 2nd guy not so good. Worth trying as the result will be better than having a chip and alot cheaper than having the whole front done.

I think they are good on bumper scuffs, but despite the name won\'t touch deep chips. Was generally pleased with the work on two sharans.

He came to look at Rex but wouldn\'t touch it. Front bumper has crazing, bonnet is stone chipped and there is a small gouge from the rear of the nearside wing onto the door abour 50mm long.Arkward place apparently

Said it needed a respray.  Seems typical cost of respray is £1500. That\'s about one years fuel bill !! I\'ll live with it like it is

Interesting comments,

Had a long scratch on the front bumper/nose on my FD (my guess is the previous owner caught a kerb which scratched the chin spoiler and the paintwork.

Bought a new spoiler and got chipsaway to repair the scratch on the bumper. The repair is almost invisibible and you only really notice it if you look very closely. When I took it to a paintshop, they wanted to strip the front down, respray the entire front bumper section and then said it probably wouldn\'t match!

In my case, for the money it cost chipsaway to do it it was worth risk.

Also used them for my Dad\'s Daimler when a stone caught the painted front bumper and took a chunk out like a five pence piece. Different guy that time and that repair is perfect. 4 years on and no problems with finish. That guy also seemed to genuinely enjoy the challenge of the job and liked it when customers were pleased with the work.

The only thing they don\'t seem to like repairing is light coloured metallics because they are difficult to match up.

By the way, this is when I lived near Buckinghamshire.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, I had a deep scratch (only in the paint not metal) about 2cm long, the guy took his time and blended it in a treat and it was gone. So I was happy to try them again for a pin dent in a door but this time I got a different guy and  I guess he just wasn\'t good enough, as you could still see it after. I think it all comes down to which person you get and how much care they take. I think it\'s easier for them to touch in a chip or scratch rather than try and repair any dent.

TBH i have seen both Realy good results and realy bad, I am a painter in a Main dealer Body shop and we have sales that always try to cut corners, they tend to use These guys for small scraches and dents.

I have seen lots of staff come and go so know the sort of person that is attracted to this work, there are two types the first is the semi retired painter who has been doing the Job years and has had a Dable in both Paint and Pannel, then you have the sort that is not realy that bothered as long as he gets the money at the end of the day (knocking out work fast to make bonus).

I\'d say if you use one of these guys and have a Good experiance get his Mobile Number becouse it is often the case the same company has Both types of People working for them and its nice to be able to recomend work thats well done.
