Just tried a quick fitment with the carbon bonnet, didn\'t fit straight on and sticking up slightly but before i get it fitted properly just want a few opinions, i\'m not sure if it suits the colour of my rx7 so let me know what you guys think ???
Gurj
ps - No you cant have it if you say it dont suit :2Rolleyes
Think it doesnt suit the colour of your rex....CF bonnets look the biz on red and blue and silver cars....looks like taxis on white cars..but bearable nonetheless....but defo not for black...youd be better off with an FRP bonnet sprayed the right colour
Me thinks you need to keep the colour purple :) Dont think it flows mate, mind it is all in the eye of the beholder. Same goes for your new lights.
Thanks for the honest reply, the idea was to get the carbon rear diffuser, carbon GT wing and then the carbon bonnet with gold decals on it to blend into the overall styling of the car.
Car is purple BTW, will try and get a better picture when the sun is on it :Thumbs-up
Don\'t think it looks right mate.

Yea i hear what you are saying John, the lights are the same as they\'ve always been, and i actually think that the carbon bonnet DOES NOT compliment the carbon light surround.
Me thinks will have to spray the bonnet purple maybe ???
I was thinkin you could always get it sprayed to match :) It\'s a nice bonnet so would be a shame to loose it just because of the carbon colour.
Hi Gurj
Great to see you getting her on at last... is thats just a trial fit i take it?
Hmm hard one that..i think in the sun it will look great..but in the dark like that its a hard one... but i guess at the end of the day..its your car..your bonnet...your taste...so no one elses view counts :2Confused
A mentioned will be a shame to loose the vented look so maybe painting is an option.....i guess if you did decide to go that route..we could poss look at Fiberglass??? I now have a supplier on these as well...but really is your persoanl taste on this one.... you have to be happy with it.. would be good to see some pics in the sun
Cheers
Gord :)
honest mod:
The fitment isnt the best.
Colour wise. I\'d say just leave it. So long as you are fitting carbon rear wings n under diffuser.
The money needed for spraying that bonnet, which might not turn out to be a perfect colour match with the rest, could go towards the rear wing or the diffuser.
just my 2p ;)

Maybe swap for a GRP painted the matching colour????? dont know how well you know the dealer - maybe a way forward. As stated above CF is hard to paint and get right.
To be honest I think it looks like a spare part thats been put on coz the old one was knackered.
Paint it to match the car, or paint the car metallic blue (looks the best with carbon bonnet IMO!)
I like the ol CF but it is so difficult to make it look right.
They impregnate some CF with coulors (not just mixed with kevlar etc) shame they cant do a purple weave :D
After leaving the bonnet on all afternoon me and the wife decided it did not suit the colour at all, was hoping it would grow on me but it hasn\'t
So the bonnet is up for grabs in the for sale section, shame but the colour makes it hard to add the right mix :( looking at a re-spray in August but daft to hold on to the bonnet until then.
Thanks for the honest opinions much appreciated.
On the positive side the new Gram lights are on :god
AH Man..sorry to hear that..have had a few requests for that hood so will pass them over to you...
If you want either a Carbon or Fibreglass one sorting at any point... just give me a shout and ill do another keen deal for you :cheers
All the best
Gordon
Silly thought here!!!! How about having a purple candy sprayed on to the carbon bonnet........ You will be keeping the correct colour and have a super funky purple carbon bonnet??????
Just a though (I\'ve seen it dont with red and it looks the muts nuts!!!)

Looking to get a deep candy purple respray in August, the whole idea of the carbon bonnet was to keep it carbon looking along with the diffuser and wing, but having looked at it today didn\'t look right with the current paint work in pearlescent purple so looks like it will be going :King
