Title: alloy water pump for a 12a?
Post by: travellinbob on April 15, 2006, 05:36:38 PM
Hi guys it has been sooo long since I knew what bits were vaguely interchangable on engine blocks. I am basically wanting to know what engines came out standard with an alloy water pump.
 cheers all, michael.

Daft question but wouldn\'t it be just as expensive to buy an electric water pump instead ? Would save the rooting time and help save space.

Well I figured that some engines came from the factory with alloy water pumps but if I remember rightly one bolt hole doesnt line up or something like that( for the 12a) and they are considerably lighter. Just an idea.
 cheers, michael.

Well squire...my memory and experience is that the alloy pumps were for motorsport purposes only, there were no hole offsets but you had to space hole 2 and 4 on the 13B ,otherwise you had tukka leaks on yer hands...........12A and 13B water pumps are totally interchangeable(sp)..........can sell you a totally motorsport pump !!!!!!!! :mmmm  My account number is as follows........ :rollin
