I\'ve still got the undertray on, but its not screwed into the cwest bumper. You could just make an extension for it to take up the difference. If its like mine it sits between the intake and bottom lip quite happily.

Mine was the same but i intend to drill three holes in the bumper and cable tie it on to stop it flapping.

From what has been mentioned on this site before, the undertray is important for cooling - I think the general message was you\'d be advised to keep it.

I made up an FRP one for mine, just get a huge sheet of MDF then cut it to fit either out of sight under the front bumper or sticking out an inch like mine - then I took the MDF to a mate who got it made in fibreglass. I kept the existing undertray and bolted it to that and the front bumper. Had the edge sprayed the same colour as the car to match in - will take a pic and post it up. The tray itself runs right back to the sump and is an oval "T" shape. Far better as it reinforces the front end which wuld flex quite easily.

Heres some pics of it (taken on my phone so not the best I\'m afraid) it\'s approx 5mm in thickness but still has some flex in it, has survived a trackday and high speed testing.

Well at the moment it\'s been made specifically for my front end, which is a widebody Kazama. I doubt it\'d fit another kit as every front end is different, in so far as it could be straight angles or a different radius etc.. If you don\'t run the car in the wet painted MDF will be okay, as I did this for awhile until it poured down! Which warped the board. It\'s just better to have somthing there to scuff other than your body kit! It\'s also replacable when it gets tatty which is good.

I\'ll ask him and see what he says about making some up for people interested.

I will have a range of bodykits available soon one of the main lines is the CWest kit..so i am more than interested in sorting an undertray out as it is some i could offer with a kit... if we can get a mdf template made up i can have them produced...but it will be a min of 10 for an order...

I thought C-West did their own undertrays? The lists on the c-westuk.com site certainly list one.

C-West produce an FRP and Carbon fibre undertray for their front ends, but they are way overpriced!

Other thing that could be done is get some aluminium sheet and make its from that !

Has anybody ever made a full undertray for the car to see if it improves handling ??

Yeah thats true ali would be good although I doubt a lip would get past the law! Would be like a razor at the front of the car!

When I fitted mine I can\'t say it made a huge difference, probably only at high speed as it reduces drag under the car much like the new Ferraris and Porsches that have tons of underbody panels for better aerodynamics. Still want to panel a few other areas around the diff and transmission tunnels to see what difference it makes.
