just got an email saying...
Good afternoon, unfortunately some processings have been cracked by hackers, so a new secure code to protect your data has been introduced by Visa.
You should check your card balance and in case of suspicious transactions immediately contact your card issuing bank.
If all transactions are alright, it doesn\'t mean the card is not lost and cannot be used. Probably, your card issuers have not updated information yet.
That is why we strongly recommend you to visit our web-site and update your profile otherwise we cannot guarantee stolen money repayment.
Thank you for your attention.
Click here and update your profile.
dont fall for this folks..it is a daylight robbery scam. they want you to update your card details, but the truth is your credit card company allready knows your detail so BE WARNED :2Mad :2Mad This is the page it takes you to

Get these on a daily basis, and just delete them. Nothing but a big scam as you say.

I think thats what they call phishing. Anything that asks you for your details through emails etc is bogus. Lots of barcleys and halifax bank details are mulling around.
Shaun
This is why the invention of HTML email was a stupid idea.
I read emails in text mode...shows all those lovely fake URLs in all their glory ;) I think ebay must get sick of me reporting spoof emails now.
embarrassed to say about scam`s but here goes
i got does over for the tune of £2850 last year. by my girlfriends EX.
heres how.
1 he went through my bins to get my bank details
2 got a mate to call me pretending to be bank. doing checks. not asking for security or the like. just conferming i was on the phone by asking if i have regular payements etc.
3 once they had my details,, a friend again called another day saying doing security checks. telling me that a transaction had failed. and could i conferm my security before they would say anything.
4 boom... had my security pass`s and everything
i didn`t think a thing till after the money was gone..
very easy to come a fraud victim. and the police... well. slow is the word! in fact i spoke to to copper dealing with it tonight, and they`ve now retreaved tape of the transaction being set up, had a copy made and are in process of making a transcript before they can arrest.. this all happened last september!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
horral ( can`t spell ) NEVER give out your codes EVER
dispose of bank details well.
never just bin them.
Sorry to hear of your problems mate, but pleased and amased they retrieved the tape of the transaction being set up, from September! how do they do that? just interested,
cheers Bob
Hi, sorry to jump in here but i work for Orange and we have a security measure which means almost all call are recorded if sensative information is required, this helps the police perform a voice match so they can tell if it was you or not. It\'s not 100% secure but if the fraudsters have diffenrent accets etc it makes it easy enough to tell :(
These fraudsters make me sick, i love to wind them up though, it\'s such fun. Spoke to one africa gentleman the other day who claimed his name was D. O. Neil, i confirmed his name back including the middle initial as O. He said yes. Now this was regarding an existing customers account and the name was
D. O\'Neil. They\'re so stoopid :Hammer
the police retreived the tape . or applied for the tape the week it happened. the cogs turn very slow when there is fraud involved. apparently!!!!. got my money back though. the direct debt was set up sending my money to a charity fund account, my banks fraud department thought it was a strange transaction from my account.!!!! he he they retrieved it the same week..
i know who did it because hes been a sad tw£T and bragging he`s done it to quite a few people.... looking forward to seeing his face when hes arrested for it. because its been so long i think he`s thinking hes all clear.
